As Assistant Director of Athletics, Gallegos' responsibilities include recreational programming, Wildcat Center operations, sports information and event management for varsity athletics as well as supporting club sports.

Gallegos received his bachelor of science degree in Sports, Entertainment and Event Management from Johnson & Wales University in May 2007 and is completing coursework for his master's degree in Sports Management and Intercollegiate Athletics Administration from California University of Pennsylvanina. Before being hired as full-time staff, Mike spent four years as a student working for Student Affairs as a work study, then a resident assistant and finally as a student assistant in Housing & Residential Education and Student Conduct.

After graduation, Mike served the Denver Campus as coordinator for campus activities, working with recognized student organizations, club sports and intramurals before moving to the Department of Athletics. Mike is also a member of the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) and the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA).

Mike is a Colorado native who grew up in Monte Vista in the San Luis Valley. Mike is an avid fan of all the Colorado sports teams having worked part-time for the Denver Broncos and completed internships with the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Crush and Colorado Rapids during his undergraduate work at Johnson & Wales.
