Men's basketball releases 2011-2012 schedule

The Wildcats will kick off their campaign for their fourth consecutive Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Conference Championship in late October in Espanola, NM against University of Southwest and Hope International. The following weekend, the 'Cats will welcome McPherson College in their home opener and the first men's game of the 2011 JWU Classic.

The Wildcats will hit the road for most of November with games throughout Kansas and California with games against Southwestern, Bethany, Sterling, Tabor, Menlo and Cal Maritime Academy. They'll travel across metro Denver for a game at Colorado Christian to finish the month. December will see the Wildcats traveling to Division I's University of Northern Colorado for what has become an annual competition between the two sides. In-state rival Colorado College wil come to the Wildcat Center in early-December in the front half of a home and home series. JWU will head to northwest for two games against NAIA powerhouse Oregon Tech before welcoming Valley City State, Madonna University and Bethany College to round out the year.

Johnson & Wales will kick off 2012 with back to back games against Division I opponents. They will travel to Air Force on January 3 before hosting University of Nebraska-Omaha on January 8 at the Wildcat Center. The following weekend, they'll travel to North Dakota to take on new conference members Mayville State and Valley City State. Northern New Mexico will make their trip to the Denver on January 21. JWU will close out January on the road in South Dakota at South Dakota Mines and Black Hills State.

Both South Dakota Mines and Black Hills State will return the game the next weekend when they travel to the Mile High City for the Wildcat Classic. Johnson & Wales will recognize their graduating seniors prior to their game against South Dakota School of Mines. JWU will finish their season at Northern New Mexico and Colorado College.

The 2012 A.I.I. Conference Tournament will be held at Dakota State University with the top two teams advancing to the 21st Annual NAIA National Championship in Point Lookout, Missouri.
