Junior guard Andrew Romero III (Northglenn, Colo.) picked up this third Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) Player of the Week as announced on Monday.
This past weekend, Romero averaged 37 points per game as Johnson & Wales grabbed two overtime victories in A.I.I. conference action. On Friday night, Romero put up a game high 36 points and shot .600 from the field in the 'Cats 94-88 OT victory over College of the Ozarks. On Saturday, he added another 38 points on .478 shooting and was 12 of 14 from the free throw line in JWU's 97-90 overtime win against Haskell Indian Nations University. He shot 53.5% from the field this weekend and collected five steals.
Romero was named A.I.I. Men's Basketball Player of the Week last week and earned the first honor of the season in early November.
