Argos use big second half to race past 'Cats

The Wildcats headed north to Montana for a pair of weekend games. They opened the road trip with a Friday afternoon contest against University of Great Falls.

Evan Longinott (Wallkill, N.Y.) made the save on the first shot on target he faced midway through the opening quarter as both teams started to feel eachother out. The Argos got on the board first with a goal just before the five minute mark. Gage Blottenberger (Severn, Md.) tied the game with 11 seconds left in the opening quarter.

Blottenberger got his second of the game just after the start of the second as he scored on a man-up opportunity. The Argos came back to tie the game with 13:08 left in the half. Blottenberger completed the hat trick with 8:58 left in the first quarter as Kenneth Preston (Manteca, Calif.) picked up the assist. The back and forth scoring continued as Joshua Williamson (Horseheads, N.Y.) and Germanus Blottenberger III (Baltimore, Md.) each added a goal with the 'Cats leading 5-4 with 4:38 to play in the half. The Argos took a 6-5 led into the break.

UGF came out of the break with a much better offensive plan, limiting the 'Cats to one goal in the third while they added five goals to lead 11-6 after three quarters. Coleton Threlkeld (Cyprus, Texas) added a goal for Johnson & Wales in the fourth, but the Wildcats fell 17-7 to the Argonauts.

Longinott made 20 saves for Johnson & Wales in the loss. He also led the team with five ground balls.
