The 'Cats wrapped up their trip to the Dakotas with a Sunday afternoon win at Presentation College.
In the third minute, Kyler Fowkes (Arvada, Colo.) put the first shot on goal of the game but Brandt McCall made the stop. Michael Genge (Broomfield, Colo.) made a save on an attempt by Presentation in the fourth minute to keep the game scoreless. Alexis Araiza (Dallas, Texas) had back to back attempts saved in the ninth minute as the 'Cats looked for their first goal of the game. Araiza finally broke through in the 11th minute as he headed in the hot to put JWU up 1-0. The 'Cats continued to put pressure on the Saints throughout the first half. In the 33rd minute, Nick Darnell (Burlingame, Calif.) sent a ball in that Fowkes got on the end of to put JWU up 2-0. The Wildcats forced Presentation's Brandt to make eight saves in the first half as they took a 2-0 lead into the break.
In the 55th minute, Fowkes got a ball in to Adama Diop (Dakar, Senegal) who put it in the back of the net to give the 'Cats a 3-0 advantage. In the 64th minute, the Saints were called for a foul that sent Araiza to the penalty spot. Araiza converted the attempt to give the Wildcats a four goal lead. Genge had another save in the 68th minute as the 'Cats looked to keep the shutout going. The Wildcats maintained control of the contest through the final minutes on their way to the 4-0 victory.
Araiza led the Wildcats with two goals and five shots on goal in the contest. Genge had two saves for the 'Cats in the shutout.
JWU heads to Doane University on October 13 to close out their road contests.
