JWU selected to host 2013 & 2014 NAIA Men's Volleyball National Invitational

DAVENPORT, Iowa - The city of Denver, Colo., and Johnson & Wales University will play host to the 2013 and 2014 NAIA Men's Volleyball National Invitational Tournament Championship Tournament, announced on Thursday in Davenport, Iowa at this year's national tournament.

JWU will host the tournament at its Wildcat Center in the city of Denver, Colo. and men's volleyball head coach AJ Joseph is thrilled to have the opportunity to host this grand sporting event.

"We are honored to be chosen to host the NAIA Men's Volleyball National Invitational Tournament in 2013 and 2014," said Joseph. "St. Ambrose has been an awesome host and provided an amazing experience for the student-athletes competing in this year's event.

"We look forward to bringing the Invitational to JWU-Denver and putting on a great show in the Mile High City."

Outgoing MAMVIC Commissioner Paul Lawson has also announced that he will be stepping down as commissioner of the league but will still be responsible for the organization and implementation of the Men's Volleyball National Tournament as the Tournament Director.

Taking over as commissioner for Lawson is St. Ambrose's Assistant Athletic Director and Head women's volleyball coach Bruce Billingsley. Billingsley will take over effective immediately. 

"We are very pleased to announce that Johnson and Wales will host the 2013 and 2014 National Tournament," said Lawson. "Coach Joseph and Johnson & Wales University are very deserving of hosting the national tournament and we know they will put on one heck of an event."

St. Ambrose will host the 2012 Men's Volleyball Tournament again at Lee
Lohman Arena in Davenport, Iowa.
