Jorden Smith honored as finalist for Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar of 2011

Jorden Smith, a student-athlete from JWU’s Denver Campus, was recently honored as a finalist for the Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar of 2011.

Inspired by tennis legend Arthur Ashe’s commitment to education, activism and athletics, the annual scholar award has been established by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education to honor undergraduate students of color who have excelled in both academics and athletics.

Smith, a senior and criminal justice major in the College of Business, is recoginzed for this accomplishment for the second straight year.
