Wildcats survive double overtime thriller
Johnson & Wales rallied from thirteen points down in the first half against Tabor College to tie the contest at 41. The Bluejays kept their composure as they matched the Wildcats point for point as the two sides finished regulation play with 54 points each.
The first extra frame had both sides trying to run down the clock on one another but each managed just seven points to force another period of extra play. The final period had Johnson & Wales using the three point shot to their advantage scoring 12 points to take the game 73-70.
Samantha Neal had 21 points while Caitlin Durkin added another 19. Victoria Huber picked up her third double-double of the season with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Tynan Honn had 16 points for the Bluejays and My-Chal Duncan had 11 boards for Tabor.
Neal was named to the University of Saint Mary Maui Classic All-Tournament team averaging 22 points per game in the two Wildcat wins this weekend.
Johnson & Wales (5-1, 0-0) will host Colorado College on Tuesday night at 7pm in the Wildcat Center.
