The Wildcats began their home classic on Friday evening with a matchup against #3 College of the Ozarks.

The visitors were hot early with an opening 20-0 run in the first four minutes of the game. The Bobcats began the game with a perfect 7 of 7 from the field. A three pointer by Andromeda Sales (Black Hawk, Colo.) put Johnson & Wales on the board at the 5:40 mark. The 'Cats were held scoreless from the floor for the rest of the quarter with a single made free throw coming from Ashley Mortensen (Thornton, Colo.) as the Wildcats trailed 36-4 after one quarter of play. The visitors continued their hot shooting as they pushed their lead up to 57-16 at the break.

The points came slow in the third quarter for Johnson & Wales, but the Wildcats chipped away as the game progressed. JWU added another 10 points in the third but still trailed 76-26 heading in the final quarter. In the final frame, the Bobcats pulled back offensively to slow down the tempo but their hot shooting continued as they pushed their lead up.
