The Wildcats hit the road for a Friday afternoon match at University of Jamestown (RV). The Jimmies forced Katelyn Peters (Brighton, Colo.) to make two early saves in the opening 10 minutes of the match. Peters came up with another save in the 11th minute to keep the Jimmies off the board. Savanah Heinz (Aguanga, Calif.) put a shot on goal in the 24th minute that forced UJ's Lauren Sayler to make the stop. In the 37th minute, Nicole Bologna got the Jimmies up 1-0 as she beat Peters. Jamestown took a 1-0 lead into the break.
Peters made two early saves to begin the second half as the Jimmies put two shots on goal in the opening minute. In the 56th minute, Chloe Arredondo (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) put a shot on target that was saved but just over a minute late she found the back of the net to tie the match 1-1. The Jimmies offense kicked into another gear after the 'Cats equalizer as they quickly built up their lead. Natasha Martin (Las Vegas, Nev.) tried to add a second goal for Johnson & Wales late in the contest but UJ's Sayler made the stop.
The 'Cats fell 5-1 in the Friday afternoon road contest. Arredondo led the Wildcats with three shots on goal and Peters made nine saves for JWU.
The Wildcats will travel to Aberdeen, South Dakota for a Sunday match at Presentation College.
