AUSTIN, TEXAS – The Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Monday, December 4 that Lucas Prolow of Johnson & Wales University's Denver Campus had been named Academic All-America® of the Year for College Division Men's Soccer.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America® College Division soccer teams are comprised of student-athletes from National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Canadian and two-year institutions. In being named Academic All-America® of the Year, Prolow was selected to the Academic All-America® First Team for the second consecutive year.
Prolow, a fifth-year senior from Evergreen, Colo. finished his collegiate career in November, graduating with his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and concentrations in Finance and Human Resource Management. In the classroom, Prolow boasted an impressive academic record throughout his collegiate career and earned multiple academic honors from both the Association of Independent Institutions (A.I.I.) and the NAIA.
On the field, Prolow served as captain for the Wildcats during the last two seasons and had three goals for Johnson & Wales University this year. He was recognized by the A.I.I. as a three time All-Conference Second Team selection (2017, 2016, 2013). In addition to his efforts on the field, Prolow served Johnson & Wales University as Student Body President during the 2015-2016 academic year.
Prolow is the sixth student-athlete to be honored by CoSIDA at Johnson & Wales University and the fourth selection of a Denver Campus athlete (Kourtney Shirley, Women's Basketball - 2014, 2nd Team; Lucas Prolow, Men's Soccer - 2016, 1st Team; Mitchel Erickson, Men's Soccer - 2016, 2nd Team; Lucas Prolow, Men's Soccer 2017, 1st Team). He is the third men's soccer player recognized as the Academic All-America® of the Year from a Colorado institution (Marc Herschberger, Metropolitan State University of Denver-2012 and Patrick McGinnis, Colorado College-2004).
