DENVER – The Johnson & Wales University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) held its inaugural food drive this year throughout the month of November.
With drop-off locations inside the JWU Denver athletic offices and the university's fitness center, SAAC was able to bring in 104 pounds of non-perishable food and donate it to Food Bank of the Rockies.
The men's lacrosse team had the honor of donating the most cans as a team.
After winter break, SAAC will host a Hawaiian-themed Welcome Back Student-Athlete Social on Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall. During the men's and women's basketball games on Friday, Feb. 1 and Saturday, Feb. 2, SAAC will be collecting money for charity as part of the SCAC's Change for the Better campaign.
