DENVER – Student-athletes from a variety of different JWU Denver teams participated in Monday's MLK Day Challenge, an event hosted by the Johnson & Wales University Community Service Network.
With no classes or practice held in honor of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, volunteers met in the morning in the Great Hall for a quick breakfast to fuel up for the day. Participants were then randomly assigned to one of six sites around the cities of Denver and Aurora: Anchor Center for the Blind, Posner Center For International Development, Family Promise of Greater Denver, Special Olympics of Colorado, Ronald McDonald House Denver and Ronald McDonald House Aurora.
Bringing The Wildcat Way to life, volunteers scrubbed, cleaned, painted and swept the day away. The day of service concluded in the mid afternoon as participants reconvened in the Great Hall to share stories and chow down on pizza.
