DENVER – As part of the SCAC's annual "Change for the Better" campaign, members of the Johnson & Wales University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) will be collecting donations during both basketball doubleheaders this weekend (Feb. 1-2).
Change for the Better is contest that allows each SCAC member institution to collect as much change as possible from fans, parents and students in support of a chosen charity over the course of one week during the conference basketball season. All of JWU's donations will be given to Special Olympics of Colorado.
JWU Denver hosts Texas Lutheran for a White Out on Friday (5:30/7:30 p.m.) and Southwestern on Saturday (4/6 p.m.).
The Wildcat women's team is coming consecutive wins last weekend in Dallas while the men's squad is in a fight for the SCAC regular season title.
Coach Quintin Grogan's team has the best record overall in the conference at 14-6 and is 7-4 in league play, just behind the two teams that visit the Wildcat Center this week, TLU (13-6, 8-2) and Southwestern (10-8, 7-2).
