JWU SAAC raises more than $350 for Special Olympics

DENVER – After some stacking, sorting and counting on Monday, the Johnson & Wales University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) announced Tuesday that it raised $376.67 last week for its part of the SCAC's 'Change for the Better' campaign.

As part of a friendly contest that challenges which school in the conference can raise the most money for the charity of its choice, JWU SAAC will donate all of the funds it raised to Special Olympics of Colorado.

A bulk of the donations were collected during a pair of JWU basketball doubleheaders last Friday and Saturday at the Wildcat Center.

The entire Johnson & Wales University athletic department would like to sincerely thank everyone who contributed. The amount of money raised is enough to provide health screenings that can detect serious health concerns and save lives for 26 individuals.
