DIII Week Profile: Rebecca Brock

As part of Johnson & Wales' celebration of DIII Week, a different JWU student-athlete will be featured each day for their 'DIII Week Spotlight.'

Name: Rebecca Brock

Class: Junior

Hometown High School: Amarillo, TX / Amarillo HS

Major: Baking & Pastry Arts and Food Service Management

Sport(s): Soccer, Track & Field

What is it like being a Division III student-athlete? As a DIII athlete, I enjoy the experience coming out here and playing for the love of the game and just getting to do something with other teammates that are here for the love of the game.

What is your background in soccer? I started playing soccer when I was 5 years old, and them competitively I started playing at age 11. From there I just always played it, always loved it.

What's the best part about being a Wildcat? The best part about being a Wildcat to me is just being involved here on campus and getting to know everybody else, all the athletes, all the other students around. Just having our small, little community here all together.

Why did you choose Johnson & Wales? I chose Johnson & Wales for the Baking & Pastry and Food Service Management major, and because it's a smaller campus.

What are you studying and how does that relate to your post-JWU career plans? I want to be able to just get my foot in the door after graduation with experience, and then ultimately open my own bakery.
