Men's Basketball falls at #20 Sterling College

Johnson & Wales (2-5) began play in the 2011 Warrior Classic held at #20 Sterling College with a 82-98 loss to host Sterling. The Wildcats found themselves behind early with the Warriors running a 15-6 advantage in the opening minutes of the contest. Johnson & Wales started to find their rhythm and tacking on the points, but the Warriors kept their pace.

Sterling College pressured for rebounds winning the stat category with 39 total rebounds to the 'Cats 23. As a team the Wildcats shot 54.1% from the floor but Sterling College had built enough of a lead that they kept the game out of reach of JWU.

Jazz Williams had a team high 21 points for Johnson & Wales and both Jake Campbell and Chris O'Neal added another 16 each. Eric Gardzina had a team high 6 rebounds for Johnson & Wales and Aaron Lampkin dished out 4 assists. Adam Brown had 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Warriors to lead the team in the win.

Johnson & Wales will play Tabor College on Saturday at 4pm CST.
