#5 Oregon Tech hustles past Wildcats in high scoring game

Johnson & Wales traveled to Klamath Falls, Oregon for the first of back to back games this weekend against #5 Oregon Institute of Technology. OIT jumped out to an early lead taking a 9-2 advantage in the first 1:57 of the game and building up as much as a 26 in the first ten minutes. The Wildcats were finding their shot throughout the contest but the Hustlin' Owls were 10-18 from beyond the arc in the half to take a 65-41 lead into the break.

Coming out of the intermission JWU was able to chip away at OIT for a few minutes but couldn't stop the momentum the hosts had, building a 95-55 lead with 12:18 to play in the game. The Wildcats let the bench stay in the game longer getting those players some strong minutes but nothing seemed to delay the inevitable, the Hustlin' Owls came out of the night with a 124-87 victory over the 'Cats.

Jake Campbell led Wildcat scorers with 23 points and matched Cody Derner with a team high four rebounds each. Kyle Gomez had 33 points for OIT including 6-7 from three point land while Jason Gamblin finished with 7 boards.

The two teams will match up again on Saturday evening at 7:30 PM PST on the Danny Miles Court at Oregon Tech.
