The Wildcats closed out the post-Thanksgiving weekend with a Sunday afternoon exhibition contest at Black Hills State University.
The hosts jumped out to an 8-0 start to begin the game as Johnson & Wales looked to get their offense going. The 'Cats came back to bring the game to a one point deficit but the Yellow Jackets again stormed ahead. Midway through the first half, BHSU led JWU 21-13. The Widlcat's offense started to stall a bit as the Yellow Jackets extended their lead to 38-20 at the half.
The second half began with back to back buckets by the Wildcats as Johnson & Wales looked to give their offense a jumpstart. Black Hills State maintained their momentum to begin the second half and continued to hit their shots. The Yellow Jackets pushed their lead up to 19 points midway through the second half. Blaze Roberts (Denver, Colo.) scored the 'Cats final 10 points as JWU fell 46-82.
Roberts led Johnson & Wales with 12 point off the bench and Aaron Stone (Elizabeth, Colo.) had five rebounds for JWU. Fraser Malcolm had 13 points for Black Hills State and Sam McCloud had a game high 13 rebounds.
The Wildcats will host Oglala Lakota College on Saturday night at 7pm to open December action.
