Bonner puts up 34 in Wildcat's win

The Wildcats wrapped up the weekend with a rematch against Oglala Lakota College in the Wildcat Center on Sunday afternoon.

Like Saturday night, the 'Cats started out hot, opening the game on a 9-2 run. The BraveHearts made some inroads but Johnson & Wales pushed their lead back up to 25-9. Each run that Oglala Lakota would make, the Wildcats would counter and extend their lead. Johnson & Wales held the 34-22 advantage with 7:28 left in the first half before the BraveHearts rallied to cut the Wildcats lead to two points. The visitors kept it close over the final few minutes of the half to trail JWU 44-49 at the break.

In the second half, the Wildcats opened the period with a run to push their lead back up to 13. OLC's offense slowed down as the 'Cats maintained their momentum. Each time that Oglala Lakota would make a push, the Wildcats wouldn't back down and kept pushing their lead. Johnson & Wales used the clock to their advantage and powered their way to the 108-82 victory.

Andrew Bonner (Flagstaff, Ariz.) led Johnson & Wales with a career high 34 points and was 15 of 19 from the field. He also had nine rebounds for JWU. King Grant-Perry (Cleveland, Ohio) had  a game high 10 rebounds. Jake Brown had 17 points for Oglala Lakota College and James Pine finished with seven rebounds.

Johnson & Wales will travel to Colorado College on Tuesday for a game at the Tigers.
