DENVER – For the fourth time this season, a member of the Johnson & Wales University men's basketball team has been recognized as the SCAC Player of the Week.

Senior guard Andrew Romero III earned the honor Monday for Week 11 after averaging 32.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals in wins over Texas Lutheran and Southwestern.

The Bulldogs and Pirates began the week first and second in the SCAC standings before JWU's weekend sweep, vaulting the Wildcats to second place and just a half-game behind TLU.

Romero III was incredibly efficient in the two crucial wins, making 62.5 percent of his field goal attempts (20-of-32) while totaling 10 assists to just three turnovers. This marks the second player of the week award for the Northglenn, Colo., native after winning it for Week 3. Teammate Jontrell Herman earned the award for Week 2 and Week 5.

With three games remaining on JWU's slate, Romero III leads the SCAC in scoring (24.7 ppg), ranks sixth in rebounding (6.9), seventh in assists (3.3) and second in steals (2.2.) Herman leads the league in assists (4.0) and steals (3.0) and is second in scoring (21.2) and fourth in rebounding (7.1).

The Wildcats hit the road this weekend to face Austin on Friday and Centenary on Saturday before returning home for their season finale Feb. 16 against Colorado College.
