Men’s basketball topped by No. 21 Whitman

COLORADO SPRINGS - The Johnson & Wales University men's basketball team couldn't pull off an upset against No. 21 Whitman College on Friday at the Rocky Mountain Thanksgiving Classic.

Whitman made 10 3-pointers and out-rebounded JWU 58-35 to score a 102-62 victory at Reid Arena.

Freshman Andray Thomas Jr. totaled 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists to lead the Wildcats. Freshman Brandon Romero added 12 points and sophomore Charles Young chipped in 10 points for the Wildcats (0-5).

Trevor Osborne led all scorers with 21 points to pace the Blues, who jumped out to a 20-point halftime lead and had a 50-20 advantage in the paint.

The Wildcats conclude the weekend against Sul Ross State on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
