DENVER – Freshman Andray Thomas Jr. recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 21 points and 12 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Johnson & Wales University men's basketball team fell 70-55 to Colorado College in an SCAC conference matchup on Friday night at the Wildcat Center.

Cooxooeii Black had 25 points and Aaron Acosta had 24 to lead the visiting Tigers (4-9, 2-5), who made 17-of-21 attempts at the free throw line and never trailed.

The Tigers started the game on an 8-2 run and never looked back, taking 34-24 halftime lead and going up by as much as 18 in the second half.

The Wildcats (2-12, 1-6) struggled to find their offensive flow, turning it over 23 times and shooting just 31.0 percent from the field and 14.3 percent from the 3-point line (3-for-21).

Freshman Kaleb Atherley nearly missed a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds while classmate Jaerron Hunter had his fourth double-digit scoring effort of the season with 14 points to go with five steals and four rebounds.

JWU heads out on the road next to face Trinity University on Friday, Jan. 17 and Schreiner University on Saturday, Jan. 18.
