AUSTIN, Texas – The Johnson & Wales University men's golf team wrapped up its first spring tournament of 2019 with the third and final round of the Linda Lowery Invitational on Tuesday at River Place Country Club.
Junior Alexander Fernandez finished in a tie for 25th with a three-round total of 252 (+39) following Tuesday's 81. The St. Johns, Florida native finished the tournament on fire, making birdies on three of his final four holes (12, 13 and 15) after starting the day on the 16th.
Junior James Shalhoup improved four strokes Tuesday following a pair of 96s, shooting 92 in the third and final round to finish with a total of 284 (+71) to place 39th individually. Shalhoup made six pars on the day, three on each nine.
Sophomore Manuel Garcia III finished with a three-round total of 287 after Tuesday's 97. Steven Gadient (96-123-100—319) and Andrew Thimjon (118-106-109—333) rounded out the scoring for the Wildcats, who placed eighth as a team and improved their team total each round (378-377-370).
