The Wildcats continued their start of the season on the road with a Saturday afternoon contest at Columbia College.
The host Cougars jumped out to an early 11-0 lead at the end of the first half. Coleton Threlkeld (Cypress, Texas) put Johnson & Wales on the scoreboard just after the start of the third, putting the ball past Columbia's Ty Hosler. Threlkeld added a second goal with 8:39 left in the third quarter. He took a ball from Deshaunte Longley (Bronx, N.Y.) and putting it past the Cougar's keeper on a man-up opportunity.
Columbia College closed out the game on a 7-0 run to capture the 18-2 victory.
Wiley Cates (Montclair, N.J.) had 10 saves for Johnson & Wales and Josh Willimson (Horseheads, N.Y.) finished with a team high 6 shots. Longley won six faceoffs.
JWU will take on Rockhurst University on Sunday at 11:00 am MT in Kansas City.
