MINNEAPOLIS – The Johnson & Wales University men's lacrosse team wrapped up a three-game spring break road trip on Monday with a 24-2 loss to Northland College in a neutral site game played at the West St. Paul Dome.
The Lumberjacks (1-0) out-shot the Wildcats 19-1 in the first quarter and 14-3 in the second frame as they built a 13-0 halftime lead. Northland scored 11 straight to open the second half before Israel Trejo scored with 3:40 left to get the Wildcats (1-3) on the board.
The Lumberjacks finished with a 37-10 advantage in ground balls and a 60-11 edge in total shots. JWU went 8-of-25 in faceoffs and 0-for-6 with a man up while Austin Cruz made 14 saves.
JWU heads back out on the road Friday, March 8 against Hendrix (Conway, Arkansas).
