Men's lacrosse falls to Aurora University in season opener

COLORADO SPRINGS - The Johnson & Wales University men's lacrosse team dropped its 2020 season opener Sunday, falling 29-1 to Aurora University in a neutral site contest hosted by Colorado College. 

Aurora jumped out to an early 10-0 lead after the first quarter and controlled the non-conference matchup throughout. 

Freshman Dylan Karl got the Wildcats on the board at the 11:14 mark of the second quarter on a goal assisted by Cole Hearn. Josh Boyko had four goals and an assist to lead the Spartans. 

Freshman James Hagedoorn and junior Jordan Livingston had three ground balls each for JWU while goalie Coleton Threlkeld made 18 saves. 

The Wildcats head on the road this week for three contests, Tuesday at Huntingdon, Thursday at LaGrange and Saturday at Oglethorpe.
