Wildcats fall in road match at Jamestown

The Wildcats headed to Jamestown, North Dakota on Friday for a match at University of Jamestown. Lucas Prolow (Evergreen, Colo.) got the first shot on goal for the 'Cats in the 4th minute but UJ's Lasse Binder made the stop. Jamestown found themselves up 1-0 in the 12th minute as Charlie Foster put one in the back of the net. Jamestown continued to pressure but they found their shots off target. In the 34th minute, Alexis Araiza (Dallas, Texas) sent a shot wide as the Wildcats looked for the equalizer. The Jimmies took a 1-0 lead into the break.

In the second half, both teams were slow in getting their offense going to start the half. Kyler Fowkes (Arvada, Colo.) put the Wildcats on the board in the 60th minute with Mark Ramirez-Tapia (Longmont, Colo.) picking up the assist. In the 66th minute, the 'Cats were called for a foul in the box sending Henrique Lucena-Pires to the spot. Lucena-Pires converted his attempt to put Jamestown up 2-1. Michael Genge (Broomfield, Colo.) made thes ave on an 80th minute attempt to keep the game a one goal difference. 

The Wildcats weren't able to find a late goal to force overtime as they fell 2-1. Genge had two saves for Johnson & Wales.

JWU will head to Presentation College on Sunday to wrap up their roadtrip in the Dakotas.
