GEORGETOWN, TX. -- Stout goaltending kept the Johnson & Wales men's soccer team off the scoreboard in a 2-0 loss at Southwestern on Friday night.

The Wildcats were able to generate their share of scoring opportunities in the non-league matchup between the two SCAC schools, totaling 11 shots in the contest. Six of those attempts were on target, but Pirates' goalkeeper Jackson Krueger stopped all six to lead the hosts to victory.

Junior Dohnovyn Jackson led the JWU attack with a pair of shots on goal while sophomores Lemi Abera, Kyle Hernandez, Alex Fairbanks and freshman Dylan Reimer also tested Krueger.

SU took the lead early, scoring from deep off the foot of Fernando Garduno-Jaramilo in the fifth minute to put the Wildcats in the hole. The Pirates added to their lead in the 19th minute on a goal off a free kick by Luis Ramirez.

Wildcats goalie sophomore Brandon Coder recorded two saves for the visitors.

JWU wraps up its two-game Texas road trip Sunday at Texas Lutheran (1 p.m.).
