IRVING, TX - The Johnson & Wales University men's soccer team suffered yet another crushing defeat Friday at the University of Dallas as the host Crusaders scored in the final minute to stun the visiting Wildcats, 3-2, in an SCAC matchup.
Freshman Albara Mutleq scored his first goal as a Wildcat to tie the contest at 1 in the 52nd minute on an assist by classmate Josh Guzman. Mutleq then recorded his first assist of the season when he set up freshman Dylan Reimer first collegiate score, giving the Wildcats a 2-1 lead with less than 30 minutes to play.
The Crusaders fought back and tied things up in the 75th minute on an unassisted goal by Nat Kajwara, setting the stage for a nail-biting final 15.
JWU generated a pair of scoring chances down the stretch, but Ezequiel Chavez's attempt went wide and Reimer's bid was blocked.
With less than a minute to go and the Wildcats destined for their fouth straight overtime game, Dallas' Brady McNamara supplied the game-winner for his first goal of the season with only seconds remaining.
Sophomore Zac Collins earned the start for JWU and made eight saves, giving him 18 in the past two matches.
JWU will try and bounce back Sunday at Austin.
