SHERMAN, TX - After a series of heart-breaking losses, including three straight in overtime, the Johnson & Wales University men's soccer team flipped the script Sunday with a thrilling 1-0 road win over Austin College.

Sophomore AJ Watters lifted the Wildcats to victory in the 99th minute with a header inside the left post off a long throw in by freshman Dylan Reimer. The win snapped a dubious streak of six straight one-score losses by the Wildcats, four of which went to overtime.

Sophomore Brandon Coder came through with 10 saves to earn the shutout victory for JWU Denver. Coder made five saves in each half to keep the Kangaroos off the board, setting the stage for Watters' late-game heroics.

Watters' second goal of the season, both of which have come in either the final minutes of regulation or overtime, was the first shot of the extra period by either side.

Two days after scoring his first goal and recording his first assist of the season, freshman Albara Mutleq continued to give the Wildcats' offense some life with a team-leading four shots. Freshmen Ezequiel Chavez and Coby Zazueta also each had one shot on goal for JWU Denver.

JWU returns home for Family & Homecoming Weekend with matches against Trinity on Friday and Schreiner on Sunday, when defender Austin Coder will be honored for Senior Day.
