Moore, Rodriguez victorious at Scott Nisely

Bryce Moore and Alberto Rodriguez won their respective events to highlight the Scott Nisely Classic for the Johnson & Wales University men's track and field team on Saturday in Crete, Neb.

Moore (Loma, Colo.) blew away the field in the 5,000-meter run, crossing first in 16:20.01, more than 22 seconds ahead of York's Logan Kaliff. Moore's time ranks third in the team record book while Noah Llerandi (17:22.95) and Cody Lane cracked the top five with their performances in the 5K. 

Rodriguez (San Jacinto, Calif.) won the 1-mile run by more than 11 seconds over Zach Grover of Graceland. 

Alan Almeida finished eighth in the 400 dash in 53.37 and 14th in the 60 dash with a time of 7.47. Almedia's time in the 60 dash broke William Barnes' program record originally set in 2016. John Jacob clocked a 4:42.24 in the mile, ranking third in the event in program history.
