SAN ANTONIO – Junior Bryce Moore (Loma, CO) earned a pair of top-five finishes to lead the Johnson & Wales University men's track and field team at Saturday's SCAC Championships.
Moore began the day by finishing fourth in the 5,000-meter run in 15:42.00. A couple hours later, Moore earned a fifth-place finish in the 1,500 with a time of 4:15.15, earning a combined six points for the Wildcats.
JWU Denver was well-represented in the 1,500 as junior John Jacob followed up Friday's runner-up in the 10K with a sixth-place performance with a time of 4:17.43. In the same race, freshman Noah Llerandi (Boulder, CO) came in 10th (4:24.58) while classmate Evan Salazar (Mundelein, IL) was 21st (5:22.04).
Salazar also finished 17th in the 800 in 2:40.26.
Moore, Jacob, Llerandi and Cody Lane (Fairmont, MN) teamed up in the 4x400 for a seventh place finish in the relay with a time of 3:55.05. The JWU Denver men's team totaled 15 points in the two-day meet to finish sixth in the team standings.
