Men's track opens indoor season at Mines

GOLDEN - The Johnson & Wales University men's track & field team opened the indoor season Thursday at the Colorado School of Mines' Alumni Classic & Multi. 

Senior John Jacob led the Wildcats' day with a fourth-place finish in the mile with a time of 4:38.75. Senior Bryce Moore was second on the team in 4:47.92 to finish seventh while junior Emad Bashir-Mohammed was ninth in 4:58.96. 

Sophomore Noah Llerandi finished just behind Bashir-Mohammed in 11th in 5:00.24, followed by a quartet of Wildcats who placed 13-16, including freshmen Keenan Rimbert (5:16.21), freshman Oticio Herrera (5:47.85), sophomore Cody Lane (5:52.62) and sophomore Evan Salazar (6:08.71). 

The Wildcats return to Steinhauer Fieldhouse on Friday for the final day of the Mines Alumni Classic & Multi.
