Wildcats take part in Mountaineer Invitational

The Wildcats traveled to Gunnison on Saturday for the Mountaineer Invitational hosted by Western State Colorado University.

The 8K event had programs from throughout Colorado including NCAA Division II contenders Adams State and host Western State. Steven Juarez (Gering, Neb.) was the first 'Cat across the finish line in 46th place at 29:08.89. Bryce Moore (Loma, Colo.) finished in 69th place at 30:52.66.

Francisco Padilla (Aurora, Colo.) was crossing the line at 32:49.15 in 79th place followed by Alan Almeida (Aurora, Colo.) in 82nd at 36:32.69. Corwin Scherer (Burbank, Calif.) was in 83rd place at 37:53.14. Johnson & Wales finished in eighth place with a team score of 225.

The Wildcats will take part in the Metro State Invitational on October 1 in Washington Park as the midpoint of their season.
