JWU comes in 16th at FHSU Invitational

The Wildcats traveled to Kansas on Saturday for the 2016 Fort Hays State Tiger Invitational. The 8K event featured two races with Johnson & Wales competiting against other NAIA institutions in the black race.

Bryce Moore (Loma, Colo.) was the first Wildcat across the finish line for Johnson & Wales with a time of 26:44 in 36th place. This was his first race for the freshman where he was the top team finisher. Steven Juarez (Gering, Neb.) finished in 48th place at 27:06 followed by Francisco Padilla (Aurora, Colo.) in 123rd at 29:06.

Corwin Scherer (Burbank, Calif.) had a time of 30:48 in 162nd place and Alan Almeida (Aurora, Colo.) crossed in 178th place at 32:43.

The 'Cats finished in 16th place among the 19 teams in the black race with a score of 365 points. 

The Wildcats will return to Denver to host the 2016 A.I.I. Championships on November 5.
