The NAIA announced that 222 men's cross country runners were named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes this season.
Johnson & Wales University had Francisco Padilla (Aurora, Colo.) recognized for the academic honor. This is his second honor for cross country, he was also named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete last season for track.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
