Wildcats take part in Metro State race

This week the Wildcats didn't have to travel far for a race as they headed to Wash Park for the 2017 Roadrunner Invitational hosted by Metro State University.

The 8K event featured teams from Gillette College, New Mexico Highlands University, Regis University and host Metro State. JWU finished in eighth place overall and fifth among the collegiate teams.

Alberto Rodriguez (San Jacinto, Calif.) finished first for the Wildcats in 25th place with a time of 28:06. Steven Juarez (Gering, Neb.) was next in 40th place with a time of 29:04 followed by Bryce Moore (Loma, Colo.) in 41st at 29:15. Daniel Larom (Elk River, Minn.) crossed the finish line in 65th at 33:05 followed by Alan Almeida (Aurora, Colo.) at 35:48 in 70th place. Abelardo Villegas (Irving, Texas) finished in 72nd at 39:41.

The Wildcats will head to the St. Louis Fall Classic on October 21.
