DENVER - With a great chance to clock some fast times next week, Saturday's Roadrunner Invitational was all about tempo for the Johnson & Wales University men's cross country team.

Seniors John Jacob and Bryce Moore went stride-for-stride the entire 8-kilometer race at Washington Park, finishing back-to-back in 73rd and 74th place, respectively. Jacob, the reigning SCAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, crossed a hair ahead of Moore at 29:25.4 while Moore came in at 29:25.6.

Freshman Keenan Rimbert (32:37.0) and sophomore Noah Llerandi (32:37.2) also packed together, finishing just outside the top 100.

Sophomore Evan Salazar completed the scoring for the Wildcats with a time of 40:52.7.

The Wildcats are back at it next Saturday at the Fort Hays State Tiger Open where they'll be in full competition mode hoping to record their fastest times of the season ahead of the SCAC Championships on Nov. 2 in Colorado Springs.
