The Wildcats hit the road for a neutral court contest against Dine College on Friday night in Flagstaff, Arizona.
The 'Cats dominated from the opening tipoff, jumping out to an early 15-2 lead in the first six minutes of play. Dine College was never able to really get their offense going in the first quarter as JWU led 23-6 after 10 minutes. In the second quarter, Dine hit a couple of early baskets but the 'Cats maintained their offensive tempo and stretched their lead to 25 points midway throught the second.
By halftime, Johnson & Wales led Dine 47-18 while shooting .500 in the first half.
In the second half, the Wildcats maintained their dominance on the offense, pushing their lead up to 65-22 with 3:13 left to play in the third quarter. Dine's offense never really got going in the contest at the Wildcats forged ahead to the 101-34 victory.
McCorra Ford (Gillette, Wyo.) led all players with 21 points and Cara McNiff (Aurora, Colo.) added 19. In all, five Wildcats scored in double-digits and Ford brought down 14 rebounds for the Wildcats. Johnson & Wales shot 56% throughout the contest.
The 'Cats will take on Dine College again on Saturday at 1:00 PM at Coconino High School in Flagstaff.
