The Wildcats headed to Hillsboro, Kansas for a pair of games midway through their winter break. The first contest of the weekend saw the 'Cats taking on #20 Tabor College.
The host Bluejays jumped out to an early 8-2 lead in the first four minutes of action. The 'Cats made small inroads but Tabor held the 20-10 lead after 10 minutes. In the second quarter, the Bluejays pushed their lead up to 40-21 at the break.
In the second half, the Wildcat's offense started slow with their first bucket not coming until midway through the third. Tabor College held the 66-27 lead after three quarters of play. The fourth quarter had the Bluejays maintaining their offensive output and pushed ahead for the 85-36 win.
Dominique Riley (Arvada, Colo.) and Allison Butler (Del Norte, Colo.) each had nine points for Johnson & Wales and McCorra Ford (Gillette, Wyo.) had a game high 14 rebounds. Tena Loewen had 16 points for Tabor and two had seven rebounds each.
The Wildcats will take on Sterling College on Saturday afternoon to close out 2016.
