The 'Cats closed out the weekend with a contest against #3 College of the Ozarks.
The hosts set the tempo early with a 10-2 lead through the first two minutes of action. The 'Cats offense hit small lulls while the Bobcats continued to push their lead. After the first quarter of play, College of the Ozarks led 28-11. In the second, the Wildcats maintained their offensive output, putting up 11 points in the quarter while C of O continued to control under the basket and led 46-22 after two periods. In the third, the Bobcats continued their hot shooting and pushed their lead up to 35 after 30 minutes of play. JWU's offense stalled in the fourth as the Bobcat's defense put them in a near standstill. The Wildcats were able to put up just one three point bucket in the period, falling 92-35 to the #3 Bobcats.
Brianna Aluya (Placentia, Calif.) led Johnson & Wales with 15 points and both Aluya and Andromeda Sales (Black Hawk, Colo.) each had eight rebounds. Cassidy Johnson had 22 points for College of the Ozarks and Kelsie Cleeton had 16 rebounds.
Johnson & Wales will head to Espanola, N.M. to take on both College of the Ozarks and Haskell Indian Nations University in two weeks.
