DENVER -- Trinity's stifling interior defense was too much for the Johnson & Wales University women's basketball team in an 89-43 loss Saturday at the Wildcat Center.

The visiting Tigers (12-3, 5-1 SCAC) totaled 10 blocks and held JWU Denver (0-13, 0-8) to 25.0 percent shooting (16-for-64) in the wire-to-wire victory.

Katey Guzman continued her stellar freshman campaign with 23 points, six rebounds and four steals for the Wildcats. Teammates Brianna Bailey and Ashlea Carothers scored six points each for JWU. Carothers (Elbert, Colo.) added six rebounds and two assists in her first start of the season.

Bailey (Colorado Springs) collected nine rebounds while Allisianna Baker had four. Coming off a career-high 30-point effort a week ago, Guzman (Fort Collins, Colo.) reached double figures for the sixth straight game and finished with at least 20 points for the fourth time this season.

Hailey Coleman had 14 points and Abby Holland scored 13 to help Trinity extend its win streak to seven.
