DENVER – The Johnson & Wales University women's basketball team returned to the Wildcat Center on Friday night to host a non-conference matchup against Denison University.
The visiting Big Red remained unbeaten this season with a 91-33 victory over the host Wildcats.
Freshman Kaleya Corke earned her first career start for the Wildcats and scored a team-high nine points to go with five rebounds. Sophomore Katey Guzman matched Corke with nine points and five boards along with a team-high three assists.
Sophomore Brianna Bailey added seven points and five rebounds while freshman Sariah Serrano had four points and two assists.
Lauren Longbrake scored a game-high 17 points on 8-of-9 shooting to lead Denison, which jumped out to a 21-11 first quarter lead and led 47-18 at the break.
The Big Red tallied five blocked shots and turned the Wildcats over 20 times.
JWU returns to the Wildcat Center on Saturday to host Nebraska Wesleyan at 5:30 p.m.
