Wildcats unable to slow down No. 19 Tigers

SAN ANTONIO - The Johnson & Wales University women's basketball team fell 103-26 at No. 19 Trinity University on Friday night in an SCAC matchup at William H. Bell Athletic Center. 

Sophomore Avionne Gomez led the Wildcats with 13 points and six rebounds while classmate Brianna Bailey scored 10 points and grabbed six boards. 

Abby Hollad had 19 points to pace the Tigers (12-2, 7-0), who won their ninth straight and remained atop the SCAC standings. 

Down its leading scorer (sophomore Katey Guzman), JWU Denver (2-11, 2-6) was forced into 37 turnovers, leading to 51 Trinity points. 

Freshman Kaleya Corke led the Wildcats with three assists while classmate Abigail Pare had four boards and two steals. The Wildcats continue their road trip Saturday at Schreiner University (5 p.m.).
