DENVER - The Johnson & Wales University women's basketball team wrapped up the 2019-20 season Saturday with a 62-43 non-conference loss to visiting Nebraska Christian.
Before the game, JWU honored senior guard Salma Oros for Senior Day. A native of Buckeye, Arizona, Oros went out with one of her best performances of the season, scoring a season-high 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting. Oros also had two rebounds, one steal and one block. Oros ended her career as a Wildcat appearing in 90 games, making 50 starts, scoring 355 points, grabbing 200 rebounds, dishing out 117 assists and totaling 82 steals.
Freshman Sariah Serrano matched her career high for the second consecutive game with 15 points to lead the Wildcats, who finished the season 4-21 overall and 4-14 in SCAC play. Freshman Kaleya Corke added 12 points, eight rebounds and two steals while sophomore Katey Guzman finished with a team-high nine rebounds.
Jazmyne Santiel scored 22 points to pace the visiting Sentinels, who led from start to finish and scored 32 points in the paint.
