BLANCO, TX – Junior Shundiin Kauffman (Cortez, CO) improved 13 shots from her opening round score at Tuesday's second and final round of the SCAC Women's Golf Championship, shooting 123 to finish 24th individually to lead the Johnson & Wales women's golf team at Vaaler Creek Golf Club.
Kauffman made pars on both of the par 5s during Tuesday's opening nine, completing holes 4 and 8 in five shots each. Her score of 123 marked her second-best of the spring season.
Junior Hannah Marie Perry (Winterville, GA) was significantly better in Round 2, finishing 17 shots better compared to her opening round with a score of 126 on Tuesday to place 26th.
In fact, all four Wildcats improved their scores from Monday to Tuesday as the team's total was 43 strokes better in Round 2.
Sophomore Ali Nava (Loveland, CO) shot 142 to finish in 27th place while junior Morgen Gonzalez (Crown Point, IN) finished with a 166 to place 28th. JWU placed sixth as a team with a two-day total of 1,157.
