The Wildcats continued their Spring Break roadtrip on Thursday with a KCAC contest at Benedictine (RV).
The hosts got on the scoreboard early with a quick 3-0 lead in the opening two minutes. Madison Herbert (Berthoud, Colo.) recorded her first save of the game at 25:38, making a stop on an attempt by Chiara Petruccelli. The Ravens continued to set the tempo offensively and pushed their lead up to 15-0 at the break.
Kyra Gangemi (Elkton, Md.) had a free position shot 10 minutes into the second half but her attempt went wide. Herbert came up big for Johnson & Wales as the second half played out, slowing the Raven's offense. Benedictine captured the 23-0 victory.
Herbert finished with nine saves for the Wildcats and Ashley Guerrero (Downey, Calif.) had three ground balls.
Johnson & Wales will wrap up their season opening roadtrip on Saturday when they take on Clarke University on the campus of University of Saint Mary.
