The Wildcats began a homestand on Wednesday afternoon, hosting #5 Keiser University at Aurora Sports Park.
The visiting Seahawks got on the board early, jumping out to a quick 3-0 lead. An attempt by Ashley Guerrero (Downey, Calif.) at 27:13 went wide of frame as the 'Cats looked to get on the board. Keiser continued to roll offensively, pushing their lead to a 17-0 advantage at the half. In the second half, Madison Herbert (Berthoud, Colo.) made the save on an attempt by Keiser early in the second half. Herbert continued to shine defensively for Johnson & Wales throughout the second half.
Guerrero scored on a man-up opportunity from a free position attempt at 18:32. She added her second of the game less than 90 seconds later, taking a feed from Katie Smith (Livermore, Calif.) and putting it past KU's Allison Fuentes. Johnson & Wales weren't able to find the back of the net again, falling 24-2.
Guerrero led the Wildcats with two shots on goal and had two ground balls. Herbert made nines aves for Johnson & Wales.
The Wildcats continue their homestand on Friday when they host Oklahoma Baptist University at 1:30pm at Aurora Sports Park.
