Bruins too much for Wildcats

NEWBERG, Oregon – The Johnson & Wales University women's lacrosse team wrapped up its four-game spring break road trip with a 18-0 loss at George Fox University on Saturday.

Meredith Teel scored twice in the first three minutes to get the ball rolling for the host Bruins (1-0) in their season opener. George Fox went on to build a 15-0 halftime lead.

Freshman Brigid McCollam (New Fairfield, CT) made seven saves on 19 shots in goal for the Wildcats (1-3). Junior Kaitlyn Warner (Alamonte Springs, FL) had the lone shot on goal for JWU. McCollam total totaled four ground balls while Jennifer Aragon (Tyler, TX) and Julianna Lozada (Poway, CA) had two each.

Teel finished with four goals for the Bruins, as did teammate Madison Strickland.   

The Wildcats head back out on the road for a matchup at Whittier College on Friday, March 15.
